About us

Rickerby Retreat is a family owned business which is ran by Amy Alves and her spa team. The swimming pool has undergone a complete transformation,  providing a tranquil environment for a gentle swim and chance to relax in luxury.  Also newly constructed, are our Terraces.  Both the rooftop terrace and the garden terrace are south facing, overlooking the park and get the sun all day. We have an al fresco dining area for spa day diners and comfortable, lounge seating to relax and enjoy the views. When the sun isn't shining, the roof fully closes to provide a cosy (and dry), lovely seating area. The spa terrace, leading out from the pool room has a chill out lounging area complete with heaters and blankets.  

The Spa

Rickerby Retreat has partnered with ESPA who have beautiful spas worldwide, and their flagship spa nearest to Carlisle is the spa at Gleneagles hotel.  A visit there provided the inspiration to secure ESPA as our partner as they have the most fantastic range of skincare products and their treatments are out of this world. In the spa we have five treatment rooms, a 2 person pedicure room, nail bar areas, pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and outdoor terrace.
